Case studies (fieldwork): The (Fish-Rice) Batering Project
Fisherfolk has suffered the challenges for their groups divided into the disputes of arable land with government authorities, the invasion of sacred places from the capitalists, quality of education for children, infrastructure, and healthcare system in their community for decades. In collaboration with indigenous fisherfolk in the southern, Chum Chon Thai Foundation held a community research workshop to learn lessons and reflect on their problems to be more acknowledgeable and drive their movement to formulate community land rights. Our CTC project can be a part of the workshop for participatory observation and focus group discussion. Moreover, we can in-depth interviews with Wittawat Tepsong, a significant participant in the rice and fish barter project.
